Is Smokie Number 1 on the Lighthouse Dial? by Flight 815 - CANCELED

I know some people have looked at this before, but I was thinking about this the other day. In looking at the numbers, if you continually repeat them, you will notice that there is a connection or pattern.
See example below:

1 – 4
2 – 8
3 – 15
4 – 16
5 – 23
6 – 42
7 – 4
8 – 8
9 – 15
10 – 16
11 – 23
12 – 42
13 – 4
14 – 8
15 – 15
16 – 16
17 – 23
18 – 42
19 – 4
20 – 8
21 – 15
22 – 16
23 – 23
24 – 42
25 – 4
.
.
.
42 – 42

In repeating the Lost Number (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42), you notice that the 1st number is 4, the 8th number is 8, the 15th number is 15, the 16th number is 16, the 23rd number is 23, and the 42nd number is 42. All of the numbers except for 4 line up with it’s corresponding number.
I have always thought that the number 4 was out of place and should have actually been number 1. Now that we have seen the names on the cave wall as well as the lighthouse, I am wondering who number 1 is. My guess is that number 1 is Smokie. He has stated that he was a man once and that he had a mother that was crazy. If he in fact was once a man, then maybe he was once a candidate too. In this case, candidate number 1. Locke’s number is 4. If Smokie is number 1 and Locke is number 4, they would be linked together on the number sequence. That's all I can come up with. Any additional thoughts are welcome.
