Hey Yall
This whole Egypt thing has got me wondering... gonna try to make a theory out of this, so bare with me,
In the middle of watching the season 5 finale, and always trying to figure out how Egyptian history/mythology ties into Lost, as we all know, it MUST, somehow...
Anyway, remember when Jacob visits Illana, she looks like and is wrapped up as a MUMMY! Can't believe I just noticed, and as far as I know, this hasn't been mentioned, I apologize if I'm mistaken. But anyway, I'm trying to figure out all this Egyptian relovance.
Do you think that maybe "Darlton" and "JJ" are huge fans or at least highly interested in Egyptian lore? It is starting to feel that way for me. So what does ancient Egypt and the present have in common? Don't know...
Why in the dawn of the series (the last 2 seasons, and a few hints in others) are we just being introduced to Egyptian lore? Jacobs tapestry, heiroglyphics all over the place, the statue, Illiana dressed like a mummy, Lockes body being carried around by Illiana and Bram like an "Ark" ya know with the two poles and a group of men carrying a sacred box?
If I have to make this a theory, as the rules set forth by DarkUFO, which I respect, I guess I'll say that the Lost creators feel like something was going on with the past Egyptians, something mystical, prophetic, even magical! I agree what they accomplished, pyramids and crypts and star alignment, could be interpreted as, by some, guided by future knowledge.
Ben, Widmore, Locke, and Charlotte all are featured in the desert, I know Tunisia isn't around the corner from Egypt, but ya gotta think about it?
Now that I technically posted a theory, Lost creators love Egypt, why, what is the significance, why is an Egyptian diety statue on the island, why does Jacob weave Egyptian tapestry, why are there heiroglyphics in the temple catacombs, and on Ben's secret door in the barracks? WHY!
Somebody read up on Egypt, I've read quite a few posts that have, and I'm glad, but nobody has nailed it yet, somebody PLEASE NAIL it.
I'm drunk as a skunk, so all criticsm is very welcome, but mostly I would like to hear what people think about this whole Egypt deal, in my mind it will show up next season, it's got to, lookin at you Richard, eyeballin' Illiana,...
Let me know, and love this site, and all who contribute, good or bad
