I was inspired while reading theories as to what may be happening at the beginning of season 6. Perhaps there is a reset and the losties land safely in LAX, but retain all their memories from being on the island. (I know not exactly an original thought). But if that does end up being the case then I think the writers may do it like this. 815 lands safely in LA with or without memories. Our losties end up spending from 2004-2007 in the real world trying to figure out what happened to them. Since in the original timeline, the losties were on Ajira 316 and should have ended up in 2007 with Sun, In 2007 in the new timeline or reality or whatever you want to call it, the losties end up on a flight together. This flight in turn crashes on the island shortly after Ajira does. If the losties don't retain their memories, then I say they get them back as soon as they pass into the sphere of the islands influence. If they d! o have their memories then they will immedietely begin to look for signs of the others, Richard, Locke etc. This I think is what Jacob meant by "they're coming." we have been watching from Sun's perspective, the altered time line already. Long story short, both a reset and WHH can coexist at the same time. It doesn't matter what the means are just the outcome. And the outcome is set in stone. It IS the Losties destiny to be on the island and so if not in 2004 then in 2007. I'm not 100% sure how Sun would be factored into all of this, but it would definitely explain how John Locke will really come back to life. He ends up on the flight in 2007 alive and crashes on the island. Imagine a scene where shortly after Illana dumps out Lockes original body and everyone is like Whoa?! And then the freshly crashed Locke comes walking out of the Jungle with Jack, Kate Sawyer,Hurly, Jin, Miles, etc. Then out walks the John Locke from the Statue. I don't know how this will play out and l! ook forward to Lost's return. Please comment and let me know w! hat you think or if there is anything to rebuttal anything that i've said.
Side note: Was rewatching season 1 recently and in one of the episodes, Locke comes walking out of the Jungle all mysterious like and walks up to Sayid who is trying to make a compass out of a needle and cork. Locke has some words with him and then tosses him a compass, very similar to the "Looped compass," and says something along the lines of "I don't need this anymore." I don't know if anyone has caught that as well but let me know your thoughts on it.
