Let's say MIB tells them, if you oppose him or choose to fight against him, this is what would happen. Kate obviously would be wanted and would not want to be in that position. What's better freedom on an island, or prison on the mainland. Hugo will be shows his successful chicken restaurant company. All nice.. sure, why wouldn't Hugo want that? MIB may try to convince Hugo "That's not who you are." and Hugo may say, "But in that timeline, Libby is still alive."

Ji Yeon would not be born at all. The question remains, what would Jack, Sawyer, and the others be shown to make them decide.
