OK, Let us start off with the Incident. Jack believes that detonating the nuke at the Swan will somehow "reset" things as the hatch will never be built, so flight 815 never crashes.
But I think he is forgetting something quite important. Ajira Airways Flight 316, which had him and the other 'ex-Oceanics' on board, crashed on the Island sometime in 2007, despite the fact that the Swan hatch DID NOT EXIST AT THAT TIME. The Swan was already a gaping hole in the ground by this time.
This implies (to my mind at least) that the existence of the Swan hatch is NOT essential to the plane crash. All the plane needs to do is to pass through the "Windows" of time as explained by Ms Hawking (in "316").
So, even if Jack succeeds in neutralising the pocket of EM energy at the Swan site, I have a feeling that Oceanic
815 will still crash on the Island.
