I like this theory because I believe that its possible that Ben is one of the good guys after all.
Consider the following:
Ben was taken as child before he had chance to mar his soul. I believe that regardless of MIB’s efforts Ben could not be changed, he belonged to Jacob/Richard.
I also like because I believe that Jack as we know him may not be who we believe him to be. Why, not just because of the tattoo, but his Asian girlfriend said that he is great ruler who is lonely and angry. What if Jack somehow will channel a deity/entity that is greater than MIB and Jacob? What if just as MIB was looking for way to kill Jacob, Jacob was looking for a way to free this deity?
That episode is not the only reference we have to Jack being different. Like Ben he was the only other person to fall ill on the Island—why is that? Also in the episode where he is reading to Aaron, he read s a passage which references Alice/Jack falling into the hole and waking up to find that s/he was not herself/himself. The passage ends with the question “if I am not myself, then what am I?”
Also, Jack was not on Jacob’s list—why; though I wonder if any of the Oceanic 6 was.
Last clue, Jack is destroyed when he leaves the Island and has visions of his father—how was that possible? Perhaps Jack was more connected in some fashion to the Island pre flight 815 than we realize and all the pain he endured was its way of getting him back.
What if the events we see leading up the oceanic 815 episode 1, is really what happens after the reset/incident and Jack somehow then becomes part of Jacob (a great leader who is lonely). This would explain why we see the Oceanic Six (minus Aaron) wake up or appear seemingly away from everyone else.
I predict that we shall them all get on plane at some point in season six and this time retain enough memory to set things right.
