well heres a silly theory i just came up with.
im not gonna get into detail about the movie. im just gonna give the details relating to lost.
just watched the movie "knowing" with nicholas cage in it.
a disturbed young girl is going crazy due to WHISPERS in her head telling her of horrible things she can not understand. she goes into a trance and starts writing a bunch of NUMBERS on a piece of paper that gets put into a time capsule at her school. the paper was unearthed 50 years later. the NUMBERS are soon found out to be the exact date, location and amount of people killed in every major disaster for the next 50 years after the paper was put into the ground. the last set of NUMBERS however were not finished. the date was there but no location or amount of deaths. "E E" was the last thing written on the paper following the last date. "E E" was then translated to Everyone Else.
now lets relate this to lost. what if our mysterious numbers on lost are time, date, location etc to a major event on earth that will somehow shape our future in an ugly terrible way that could in fact result in the end of the world? perhaps this is where our good mates Jacob and MIB come into play and travel back in time after realising what the numbers mean.
im not sure how much thought and decoding theres been into the numbers but watching the movie really got me thinking about it.

for anyone who hasnt seen the movie yet, stop reading now!
the whispers turned out to be 4 mysterious men with SUPERNATURAL POWERS who were guiding the CHOSEN to safety. while Everyone Else on earth were awaiting the final moments of the planet and man kind, the CHOSEN were leaving the planet. yep, the 4 mysterious men with powers were ALIENS! :O!
