I know that Dark tells submitters not to submit small theories, but perhaps this simple one can spur on some true debate.
In "Tabula Rasa" Kate is in the truck with her Australian farmer friend. Edward Mars pulls up alongside the truck and is about to haul her in. At that point, basically all hope for another getaway is lost.
All of a sudden, in a very confusing bit of scenery, a car zooms towards the truck that Kate is travelling in. It causes Mars to fall back behind the truck to avoid being hit. But that struck me as strange, because the truck was seemingly coming from the side in which Kate and her companion were travelling in. In the next shot, Kate's truck is in the other lane, with Mars right behind. In essence, Mars dove behind them, and they both switched lanes, but that part was not shown.
Soon thereafter, Kate manages to luck out by surviving a wreck and miraculously escaping from Mars's gun (aimed squarely at her head). Many people have pointed out that this show seemingly glosses over "editing errors". However, we all know the producers and writers are too smart for huge errors, and theories have floated about saying that the "reversals" (such as Young Ben's gunshot wound switching sides of his body) are intentional.
So now, given what we know about Jacob and the overwhelming theory that he always knew that certain characters were "blessed" by him to come to the island, I wonder if it wasn't Jacob in the oncoming car. After all, they never showed who was driving the oncoming vehicle.
I'm not sure what I believe on this one, but I certainly would not be shocked if we get a "zoom in" on the driver of that vehicle during season 6.
