This theory will try to explain how our losties get back to the present day island as well as die in front of Richard in '77. If we assume the bomb did not go off and the white flash was similar to what Desmond experienced when he turned the key, then we can assume Jack and the rest will experience something similar as well. They will not physically time travel, like Desmond they will mind-flash back into their pasts, which just so happens to be on the island in '04. And like Desmond, they will be able to change the course of events. Richard does see them die of nosebleeds in '77, but they somehow remain in their pasts in '04, keep the secret, and choose to stay on the island instead of leave. Evil Locke impersonator, Ben and Sun are still in '07, but 'they' are coming because 'they' never left. Jack, Kate, Sawyer and company are the electromagnetic supercharged variables, coming to alter Evil Locke's desir! ed destiny.
