So, with time till the next season of Lost, I decided to go back to the beginning and totally nerd this thing out. I'm watching the fist season sporadically and taking notes that are of intrest.
1) Rose and Bernard. Since I'm only on season 1, Bernard is merely a name. However, Rose, when we first meet her, is dead. She is brought back to life and simply mediates about how Bernard is doing. She knows that he is not dead, as do we. On a bit of a streach, Locke was playing backgammon explaining how each peice was black and white. And as we know from this past season, they live in the cabin later occupied by "Jacob" and is burned to the ground by the second set of survivors. Outside of Rose having cancer, which we learn while they are on the island, there is no flashbacks of Rose and Bernard prior to the crash, leading to an unexplainable lack of chatter about them.
2) Jack is a giver of life. So far, I'm only up to Whatever the Case May Be, Jack has brought back to life Rose and Charlie while taking the life of the marshall. Boone tried to save Rose but failed, and Kate told Jack to give up, but he wouldn't. Jack also saves Boone's life. Jack also brought Christian "back to life" since after the crash his body went missing. To that, Jack also brought back Locke on the second flight, and we are now at the dead Locke, Real Locke conundrum. We learn that Christian brought Jack to become a surgeon because he was the best.
3)Claire MUST raise Aaron. This is an overwhelming theme that has remained a mystery. We've always been told terrible things would happen if Claire didn't raise Aaron, which she currently isn't. If you look into her dream, Claire has already had Aaron and hears him cry in the jungle, and she goes searching for him. She runs into Locke who is playing a card game and tells her "You knew what would happen if you didn't take care of him, and now we all have to pay the price." Locke's eyes are blacken, presumibly foreshadowing to Fake Locke. When Claire finds the crib, she only finds Oceanic 815 as a mobile, and a pool of blood.
As I get further along, with the hopes of watching all the previous seasons. However, if the last season is suppose to be more like the first, these are some issues that may becoming important.
