I have read a couple of theories about after the Incident, the 06ers didn't die and remained on the island until the present, or until the original crash of 815. And first appear much older. Weird.
Now I am not sure if this is true, but there is a slight possibility. A few months ago in the rumors section there was a post about an extra who found out out that someone saw Jin all made up as a man "probably in his sixties", and that the final scene of Season 5 was the 06ers emerge from the temple 30 years later to confront "whoever" is the "present".
I'd love to say Bullsh**, but I don't know. Someone has been in the temple hiding, Ben told us that back in S4. I would like to believe that it's the "others" we have seen jus' hanging around with Richard. But who ARE they? Where did they come from? We all know that some normal folks,(Juliet, Ben, Ethan, etc..) came from Dharma, or 815(stewardess and kids). But who was in Richards troop when kid Ben saw him after chasing down his Mom? His ragged appearance has been discussed often. How did Widmore and Hawthorne get there? I guess we can assume that Jacob led them there like he did the ship in "the incident", but GEEZ that's a lot of storytelling for one more season!
How did Mr. Friendly get there?
I guess we can assume that maybe they could have kids at one point and they did, thus creating "others".
I'm trying to make a theory out of this, but my mind keeps jumping theories, i.e. Lost is NUTS!!
Anyway, maybe, theory:
In the season 1 finale, which Darlton said season 6 would resemble season 1, when Jack said, "I don't believe in destiny", Locke replies, "Yes you do, you just don't know it yet". How prophetic on Locke's part. At the end of season 5 Jack was all about destiny and the bomb. I have consistently posted that Lost is a show that we can all re-watch after the series finale, and find all sorts of cool new things that we didn't catch. Knowing that and re-watching S1 too soon, why would Locke say "don't know it yet"? Has he spoken to someone from past/future/what? Do you think he knows Jack will embrace destiny from possibly Jack himself?
Gettin' weird and long (sorry)
I'll never get to my (real) point/theory, because Lost keeps your thinker thinkin' too much, but, maybe, The 06ers did survive the incident, they've been in the temple(ageing or not), waiting for either 815 to crash or for Ajira to crash, only to reappear to influence their selves. Maybe they are the whispers, they are hearing their own thoughts, their own warnings. Whispers as far as I remember have mostly happened to the 06, and Rosseasu. Every time whispers are heard, trouble is coming and the 06ers sense it. More likely they died, as Richard said, and it is only their Desmond like conscious reminding them of what is coming, cuz they witnessed it. Maybe Maybe Maybe. All I know is that Matt Fox said that the premiere is gonna be weird and hard to understand.
Lost is weird, none of us will ever pin it down, I'm more than likely wrong, but I can't wait to find out. I do love Lost! as CRAZY as it is and will be.
