In "Meet Kevin Johnson", after revealing he knows Michael is lying about his name, Miles tells Michael "Don't worry, 80 percent of the people on this boat are lying about something". I recently watched that episode, and started to believe that that quote meant more than we initially realized.
In "Confirmed Dead", five characters from the freighter have flashbacks. They are Daniel, Miles, Charlotte, Frank and Naomi. Four out of these five characters (80 percent) turned out to be lying to his or her shipmates about something.
Daniel was a liar. He wasn't just going back to The Island for scientific reasons. He wanted his memory back.
Charlotte was a liar. She didn't tell anyone that she had been to The Island before. She was hoping to return.
Frank was a liar. His plan was to get to the bottom of the fake plane conspiracy. He knew the wreckage was a fake.
Naomi was a liar. She withheld plenty of information of about Widmore's real motivation to send them to The Island.
Miles turned out to be the only honest one of the five. He was just in it for the 1.6 million dollars.
Do you think that quote was a hint left by the writers or that I am looking to deeply for meaning?
