I read a theory on her that supposed that Isabel may be Juliet in the future. A lot of people on this forum have also been theorizing that the losties remain stuck on the island while they live out the next thirty years.
I don't think this theory is as far off as some people are making it out to be. I just went to lostpedia and started reviewing the profiles of the "others."
Take a look at Goodwin Stanhope and Harper Stanhope. Not only is there an "other" that does look startingly like an older version of Juliet (Isabel), there is also an "other" that shares similar characteristics to Kate --Harper Stanhope. Goodwin then deserves a second look-- could he be a refernce to Sawyer?
For example, if Goodwin is a stand-in for Sawyer and Harper was a stand-in for Kate-- Imagine what that means.
Goodwin (Sawyer) is married to Harper (Kate), but he is unhappy and has an affair with Juliet (young). Given all the Kate/Sawyer stuff that Juliet has already put up with, it's unlike Isabel (if she is Juliet) would have anything to do with them when they are older. It also explains why Harper (Kate) does not like Juliet.
Goodwin is also the character that is sent by Ben to the tail section of the plane. If he was Sawyer, he could not have been sent to the front section as he would have been in contact with not only his past self, but also other losties he developed deep relationships with. It would also explain how Juliet forms such an attachment to Sawyer, and how Sawyer is able to so easily adapt to life with Dharma in the 70's. He was always meant to be there and to be with Juliet.
If Sawyer aged into Goodwin, and in the process married Kate (Harper) it might explain him starting an affair with Juliet when she arrives on the island. A trip down memory lane, perhaps? Look at the photos of Goodwin, he gives a lot of "sawyer-esque" faces. Good news for all the Suliet/Lawyer fans out there.
Furthermore, Harper is the one who tells Juliet that Charlotte and Daniel are going to the Tempest. She was wrong about what their intentions were, but Kate definitely would have known were they were going and what was there.
If all of this is true, then we know that some of our losties do die in the future (Isabel) but then techincally don't by way of their future selves. We would be missing Jack, but a lot of people have already supposed he may actually be Jacob which would explain his lack of a counterpart in the Others.
I do agree that it seems unlikely that the writers knew about this turn of events that far back, that they cast and found people who could mirror the losties we have come to love. However, it isn't so far fetched given what has recently happened this season with Past and Future Charles and Eleanor. Both of those characters have been played by THREE different actors, and the writers have suspected (accurately) that the viewers will be willing to suspend any differences in their appearance or maneurisms for the sake of the story. So, then again-- maybe it is completely possible.
If that is true, it does (as a prior theorizer stated) mean that Juliet becomes Isabel. This explains why Isabel knew Jack so well and knew about his tattoos. Kate becomes Harper and Sawyer, we would know, chooses Kate. Juliet winds up alone. Sawyer dies, but not before realizing and having a second chance with the woman he was supposed to be with- Juliet.
This leaves Kate (Harper) and Jack (possibly Jacob) still remaing which would make any of the fans happy who have wanted these two to be together.
This means that Miles and Hurley may not make it through the end of this season, but who knows.
After thinking through this, I am actually much more convinced that our losties do make it through the "incident."
However, I think that by the losties traveling back in time, they have created a separate reality so the "future losties" (Goodwin, Harper, Isabel) as posited here, no longer exist in the future that Locke, Sun and Ben are in now. A recent, fabulous theory on this site explains how it does appear that the island that they are on now, is different then the one Oceanic 815 crashed too.
Which means it is completely possible for our losties to travel to the new future and still be young-- and only in a flashforward to the future (2nd future) would we know if this theory was right. For example, flash forward to the far future (approx 2030) and there are the actors who were cast to play Harper, Goodwin and Isabel....Just a thought!
