The biggest question on my mind right now (and probably most people's for that matter) is WHAT will happen to the 815ers that are stuck in 1977? Right now the odds are that either:
1. Something catastrophic will happen (ie. detonation of H-Bomb, or the release of concentrated electromagnetic energy) which will cause most if not all of them to perish on the island..
or that
2. They will somehow be transported back into 2007 only to be reunited with Locke, Sun and the Others.
Now, there is also the possibility that some of them may either escape the island or continue LIVING on the island after the supposed "incident". Some people are speculating that a few of them may actually be very important characters that we already know, and that they became these characters over the years. For example there are rumours floating around that over the thirty year gap, Jack will become Jacob in what would be an extremely ironic twist. To me this would make a lot of sense, although I just can't get my head around how they would actually pull it off. Even if something like this happens, though, what is to come of the other 815 survivors?
Will they all die, like, literally? I really, really don't think so. While this would be a huge twist on the series, the remaining cast just doesn't have enough power to keep the show going. Imagine the credits rolling for season 6: "Henry Ian Cusick, Micheal Emerson, Yunjin Kim and Terry O'Quinn". Can't see it happening. And you just know that somehow, somewhere down the line Jin and Sun will be reunited. I also don't think we have seen the last of Locke VS Jack.
This is not to say that EVERYONE is safe. Thinking that would be just plain ridiculous. I definitely think it will be curtains for someone and my money is on either Juliet or Sayid. They wouldn't dare kill off Sawyer and I feel that everyone else still has some unresolved issues.
Either way though, I'm sticking to the belief that right around the time when everything starts to get crazy, something happens which will transport them back into the future. What could this be though? Well heres what I was thinking... A polar bear turns the donkey wheel which sends everyone (or at least certain individuals) into the future.
Remember in "Confirmed Dead" when Charlotte found the polar bear dead and dried up in the Tunisian desert? What if somehow a bear escapes from the Hydra island..and winds up wandering the tunnels on the main island? I stronly believe that these tunnels (which Jack, Sayid and Richard are wandering through at the end of the last episode) are all interconnected and also lead to the frozen donkey wheel that Ben and John Locke have now turned. Something has to happen to get these survivors back to their regular time frame...And I don't believe in that much ressurection. Besides, how else would a polar bear end up in the Tunisian desert?
I can picture it now.. Jack and Sayid get into some kind of find where the end result is leaking radiation from the H Bomb (radiation which will then render every woman who grows up on the island infertile) At roughly the same time, the proverbial sh?t starts to hit the fan at the swan station. Meanwhile, a polar bear clumsily wanders into the frozen donkey wheel room and, being trained to solve puzzles for food, turns the wheel. FLASH! everyone transports back to 2007. Heck maybe Jack even stays behind and turns into Jacob. The possibilities are endless.
I realize this is most likely NOT what is going to happen, twas just a cool idea I thought I would share. (and I still want to know how that polar bear wound up in Tunisia!)
