First time poster...
815 flight:
Intereseting how Frank flew directly to the island without some sort of event such as the Des missing the button event of 9/22/04. It would seem that because the new pilot decided to turn around and fly off course that the island "course" corrected by having Des move the island to the exact spot that 815 was heading. Using this logic will toss out Faraday's attempt to change the future by preventing the incident because the incident is merely a means to an end.
Faraday and his past or future:
Faraday goes to Ann Arbor and creates the pendulum, writes in his notebook and time travels..not in that specific order... Faraday seems to be the one person with the ability to figure out a way off and back to the island. How far back in time Daniel travels is probably near creation. Daniel's educational build up by Elle and his knowledge of music also contribute to the theory of Daniel actually traveling through time creating the donkey wheel and the looking glass station. Music knowledge being the transmission block code created for Charlie or Ben depending on the variables.
Faraday and Theresa:
Why would Daniel knowingly test Theresa after testing himself? Because it worked on himself. This is when Faraday time traveled..created the knowledge in his notebook and must have realized that he could change the past, probably only his own. Understanding, that when in the past, it is his present. By testing Theresa he was either trying to get her to change her own past(theresa falls up the stairs) or future(Adam and Eve).
Elle, Charles, Widmore and Des:
What's really going on? Why would Elle visit Penny? I'd say she's mom but she merely apologized for Daniel. Why? Daniel spoke to Des in a dream/memory. Logic says that Daniel knows what Theresa has gone through and this time jumping will end up hurting CS Lewis. Yet, it also seems Daniel knows more of his mother, whether it be good or bad, than he has let on. He seems to understand her intelligence and his interpretation of her intentions. Perhaps Daniel has already completed his role and now he is simply a problem sending Des to his mom...trying to change the future of 815..etc. I believe Daniel created the ability to leave and return to the island. He created the donkey wheel. Daniel is searching for the ability to "make" time...his mother doubts his ability as a child yet she no longer knows what will happen next. Faraday has probably already created time but it is in everyones future.
Widmore and the ability to memory wipe:
Ben gets shot by Sayid and forgets...Richard tells Kate Ben will not remember..Ben wakes up and immediately speaks to a burly Charles Widmore. Future...older Charles speaks to a memory wiped time travel laden Daniel Faraday and tells Daniel he will not remember this conversation. Is it an "other" thing or do these people lose their memories because they are not on the paths that they are meant to be on. These people seem to start from scratch after certain misdirections in their lives. Faraday lost his memory while he has no ability or desire to time travel after leaving Oxford..the testing of Theresa and subsequent leaving of Oxford being the variable. Widmore and Elle talk him into going "back." Then his memory slightly returns when on track..kinda. Ben becomes an official other(not meant to be) and doesn't remember significant memories of his past..Danielle Rousseau cannot remember who stole her baby because her people were not meant to go to the island..she is! off course..Charlotte cannot remeber being on the island because she was not meant to leave. This is all a stretch but it still seems weird that Charles is always a constant in spoken or perceived memory loss.
Daniel and the notebook:
Seems like Faraday decided to pay himself a visit at some point during his pre-memory loss time traveling expedition, which may or may not even hold water. If faraday had all this notebook knowledge he must have seen the endgame. I don't know. Give me some feedback here. Thanks.
