Hi all, First time post for me but I’m a regular reader and love some of the theories people come up with here.
This is a mini theory about Loche and how he seemingly just “knows” what to do now he’s back on the island. I’ve read a quite a few Loche posts lately and it seem a lot of people think that he is being controlled by the smoke monster but I am possitive this is incorrect. If it were true I just think it'd be a massive disappointment. Loches answer is always that “the island told me” but I don’t like the idea of the island having a voice in loches head either. I therefore have an alternative theory on Loches new found knowledge and purpose……
…..What if he is receiving information/knowledge/new memories in the same way as Daniel planted a new memory/instruction into Desmond’s future self when he spoke to him at the hatch? Its quite plausible that someone could be in contact with a younger Loche telling him the information that he needs and what he has to do. Who that might be I don’t know, maybe Jacob or maybe even Sawyer/Juliet. After this weeks episode it seems that Sawyer/Juliet are heading off the island and will be heading to an off island 70s where a young John Loche will be knocking about. The more I think of it the less likely I think it would be Sawyer/Juliet but maybe someone else (Daniel when he was in Ann Arbour??) is guiding Loche from the past.
Anyway that’s my idea and I’m sure there are holes in it. Feel free to pick it apart!
Ps on a side note I loved the theory someone posted suggesting Jacob may want Loche to kill him in order to set him free or end his misery. Its quite possible that Jocobs “HELP ME” plea to Loche was requesting exactly that and to expand on that theory what if Christian is working against Jacob. The only other time (to my recollection) that Loche has been to talk to Jacob since the “HELP ME” scene he was confronted by Christian instead who instructed him to move the island which, had Ben not intervened, would have sent Loche to Tunisia and effectively out of the way. Something about that scene just doesn’t sit right. I mean where was Jacob exactly, just popped out to the supermarket, too busy to chat to his number one disciple who he so desperately wants help from?? Something’s fishy there if you ask me….
