Okay, I know there are a lot of people who say they would hate it if the show ends with the crash of 815 being avoided and the plane landing in LA. I suppose that would probably piss me off, too. But what if it is half true? What if...
Everything we've seen happening on the show has been course correction. Desmond was not supposed to neglect the button, the plane was not supposed to crash, the plane was supposed to land...but not in LA. Remember that flight 815 was already 1,000 miles off course and was heading in the wrong direction. It was heading back toward Fiji, according to the pilot. So, regardless of whether or not Desmond pressed that button, that plane wouldn't have landed in LA. If anything, it would have landed in Fiji. So what if it was supposed to?
The plane was supposed to land in Fiji, let's say. And the Bram/Illana group is actually part of whoever it is that was waiting for that flight to land in Fiji. Could be new Dharma but I don't think so. Maybe the course of events we've been watching unfold on the island has been orchestrated by the Bram/Illana party to get the plane to its actual intended destination, which was not LA.
