Hi Guys ,
I am new to this theory writing . So forgive me if these ideas were put forth before.
What if the coming war is not between ben and widmore , others vs dharma , losties vs evryone else , or even the 3rd group ....
What if the war is between the Island and Fate . What if the Island is the only place on earth where Free will has always come up trumps against Fate ? Fate ala universe is trying to counter that .
What if Jacob is the real villain , he might be manifestation of Fate itself , and the reason for the ash around his cabin might be Island's handiwork to counter him.
I have a faint feeling that Other's are not good guys as the show has led us to believe. Though i like Richard , i have a feeling that he is the real bad guy in the show. Imagine how surprising it will be in the end when we come to know of this. Talking of Jacob , it might also be that Other's were real good guys and somehow Jacob took over them and move them towards to the bad side without even Other's knowing that they are working for the bad side.
And what if the losties were originally supposed to die in the flight 815 accident. Not meant to survive at all , and they are living because of the island now. WHH vs Things can change. As per fate , the Losties were supposed to die . Jack , who is supposedly our hero and future leader of the Island , was meant to be killed by Fate , but the Island protected him ? Things changed .
I believe TPTB are blinding us intho thinking that the WHH discussion we fans have are supposed to be about events that is taking place in Dharmaland in 1977 , what if the real WHH vs Free will discussion we have must be in the present , where the things obviously didn't play out as the fate wanted , and the Island being the special place , Desmond being "The Variable" has already caused the Free will to succeed against the Fate.
I guess one among Richard , Locke or Jacob is the bad guy in the show. Ben and Widmore for all their bad elements in the character , are really the ones on the good side. I have a basis to this point above. If we look at the three names , only thing which is common for Richard , Locke (after resurrection) and Jacob is that they are the only ones who knows what is going on . Ben / Widmore though were the leaders they are not in knowing 100 % side. That side exclusively belongs to Richard, Locke or Jacob. So , logic states one among this three is the Bad ass character .
Ok so where does Jack come in ? I believe Jack is supposed to be the real leader because , he must be in the lineage of leaders of the island. Somewhere in his grandfather era or great grandfather era they were banished in mysterious circumstances away from the island. May be Jack's grandfather must have the clue . Why else show him in first place.
Jack will come to know of this truth mid way through season 6 . Hence , the purpose island brought him back was to be the real leader or saviour of the island in its quest against Fate. Who else in the show best epitomises that enduring human nature of Free Will apart from Jack?
There are lots of gaps in the theory. Please feel free to tear this theory apart .
