In the Season 4 episode, "The Other Woman", Juliet went to therapy and saw a woman named Harper, who asked her what she thought of Ben. I can't remember exactly what Juliet said, but Harper responded with the comment, "Of course [...] you look just like her."
Of course the immediate question became, who is 'her'? I believe that 'her' is one of two candidates, Ben's mother, and Juliet herself.
While I enjoyed the last 10 minutes of the episode and was very happy to learn one of or the overall function of the Temple, I struggled to figure out one thing: Assuming that Whatever Happened Happened, how does Benjamin Linus, who is a child right now, end up being a member of DHARMA in the scene we saw with him helping his father with crates directly before the Purge? I would love comments as to how old people think Ben was when the Purge happened, but I have heard 30, so that means that despite his now being a Hostile as Richard said, he is going to live with his father in DHARMAland for about 15 more years.
Back to the first theory though, that part waas just to help it out, I believe that it makes sense that Ben would pick to hire Juliet (through Richard, Ethan, and the Magic Bus) because he wanted someone who looked like his mother.
However, I believe that it would be much cooler to have Ben notice the brand on Juliet's back in the 70's/80's, after (and I believe this will happen) Jack, Kate, ect. tell young Ben about all of the events of his future. That will lead young Ben into looking to hire a woman who looks like the woman who he saw back in the 70's who tried to save his life from the gunshot wound, and also give Ben a more secretive reason to end up making the call to not execute Juliet, leading to her being branded. After all, he knows that she has more work to do.
I love these theories, and I'm really good with LOST, so if anybody has any questions, ect. email me: mcbond008@gmail.com Theory by mcbond008
