Alright....so first post on a theory, and this is probably not theory worthy as it was as evident as Desmond's crazy eye, but here goes :)
I think this question (why ben didn't remember sayid shooting him) was answered by Richard Alpert at the end of Whatever Happened, Happened when he told Kate and Sawyer that young Ben wouldn't remember what had happened to him after he took him and did his freaky jason temple healing. So to answer Hurley's question to Miles about why he didn't remember is simply that whatever Richard did in the temple caused him to forget. Possibly? Maybe? No? OK. Discuss. (I said that last part in a Linda Richman voice, for those of you SNL fans....). Theory by Jana Roach
