Hey, this is my first time with a theory, I'm not a native speaker, and possibly what I suggest seems silly to some hardcores or has been writen before, so bare with me plaease..
Here it goes..
I'm guessing the Monster DOES take the form of anybody arriving dead on the island BUT it appears in the form of a different "dead person" for each time-period(even silmutaneously kind-of..)
What I mean is..
-In the 70's when/where the Losties "now" are, the Monster has the shape of Richard Alpert.
-In Season 1 and so own "it" has the shape of Christian Shepard whose body arrives on the island when the losties crashed on it (in cofin, flight 815) BUT "it" stops being Christian once Locke's dead body arrives (again: cofin, flight 316).
-"Now" the Monster is John Locke (after flight 316 crashed).
Note one similarity between those three characters:
They all seem to "just know" things they couldn't possibly know.(e.x: Locke "just knows" where to lead Sun and Ben to find himself and the other two right outside the temple, dispite the fact that HE HAD NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE!Wouldn't the location of the temple be something that the Monster would most definitely know about? Considering the Monster being Christian, how else could "Christian" know all about the wheel and it's use-while helping Locke going back to the mainland-since it's never been mentioned he has never been on the island before? Finally in a questionable time-period, in between flashes, Richard, while helping John says..."You will have to die John"0. How on earth does HE know that?)
I'm guessing that by now you would asking yourselves/me: How do you persume Richard once died?
Well I don't really know the answer to that..
However, I do have another explanation about Richard being the Monster. So far I pointed out that all three (Richard, Locke, Christian) after getting to be the Monster, obtain certain "knowledge" of the island and things that happened/are happening/will happen on it. My second guess is that once the Monster takes someone's form, that certain someone becomes ageless/immortal..(Richard!)
Finally the fact that "Dead is Dead", is a really strong argument for Monster-Dead people connection even if all of what I suggest is a piece of s***..
Well that was pretty much it. I'm sure many of you will find gaps and come up with unanswered question or even LAUGH AT ME! I just thought I should give it a try..(comments please!!even if they're really painfull..)
