Common thing in lost.. Everyone has "Daddy Issues" However with Miles and Pierre, the pain was very visable, although Miles denied denied denied.
Miles askes his Mother about his father and she said "He kicked us out, left us. He is dead and has been for a very long time" Miles says " Where is he burried" BTW these are not direct quotes from the episode. She then tells him he dies in a place he will never get to go to....Ahhhhh but he does.
So we see that Miles, meets his father Pierre. He does'nt tell him who he is, and still tells Hurley, He left me when I was a baby. We see baby Miles, and his mother on the Island, and also a very touching part where Miles watches Pierre, play with Baby Miles on his lap, until he is called out.
So here's what I think really did happen.
Pierre, loved baby Miles. He wanted the best for him. Which meant in the living conditions, he had to work to make the Island safe for him as he grew up. WHich may be why he is so involved in all the projects.
His mother did not lie, he did throw them out, and he did die on the Island, But I think he did it all to protect him. Its better for her to tell Miles, that he was not a good father, and Miles not go searching for him. Rather then " Your father was a caring devoted man who loved you" and make Miles want to go find him.
Pierre knew what was about to happen. He knew possibly from Older Miles, that he would die. That the D.I was about to end. Therefore making the decision to get his Wife and child out, before any danger were to occur.
Miles mother probably argued, but in the end. Pierre won. Sent them on the sub, and the rest is History.
So there you have it. Pierre is'nt so bad. He did it all to protect Miles. I think Miles will see all this as time goes on, and develop the relationship he has always wanted.
He may have got his gift from the Island, which is what makes them so special. They are the children of the island. Either that or experimented on... Who knows??
