We had sides..WH,H and ALT. Talked about it endlessly. Now I need to side up to this new group. Meld. Because I am both there and there. In between. So I will write about some things from this point of view.
Jacob
We know that Jacob put the list together. List of GOOD people. And the only people that were taken are people from the tail section?? What? There was no good people in other parts of the plane, just in tail section? Yeah, right.
So why only tail section people? Because Jacob said so. We know that Jack was not on the list. Danny said so. We know that Hurley wasn't on the list. Bea said so. We know that Kate, Sayid and Locke were not on the list. Mikhail said so. I guess none else from our group was on that list. So what is going on here? How come John Locke is not a good man? Because he is angry? Really? Why wouldn't he be angry? His own father who left him as a baby came back just to steal his kidney and then later on push him through the window and made him crippled. Why would he be angry? Have no idea. :)
So, why? Because it happened like that in the past. And whatever happened happened. It has to happen this way. Course Correction. I still believe that Jacob is someone we know. Someone from Oceanic 815. Why? Because the show is telling me this. They are the reason for everything. We cannot change that. One pushed the wheel and placed them in the 70s. He then became the leader of the Others, elected himself. The true one. The one island wanted. One shot little Ben. The other two saved his life and are responsible for his future actions towards them and anyone else. And so on. So it is only natural that Jacob is someone within them. You will say But he existed in the 50s. 50% chances he did. How then? It doesn't matter how old he is. It doesn't matter when was he. How much he knows. The only thing that matters was he on the island in the moment Jacob became Jacob? And I think it is somewhere in late 70s. Incident or something else doesn't matter. Maybe something will go wrong ! like it always does, like with freighter and someone will need to sacrifice. What matters is he was a man and then he got stuck in between time. He became pure energy with absolute knowledge. Of past, present and future. Of the island. Everything. Meaning he just is. Everywhere. In any time. It could be it. Or it could be that he exists from the point when he became the Jacob we know. I think he exist from the beginning till the end of time and he is walking through time as if he was walking over a board.
But this is unknown to the people on the island. Whenever I think of Jacob I see him as a Big Brother(1984, George Orwell). Big Brother is watching you. Jacob is watching you. Jacob knows. I still believe that back in 1954 none knew about Jacob. It was Locke who said Jacob sent him. It was Locke who started it all. And I still believe that Richard can see behind the curtain. Hence the look he is giving to almost everyone he meets for the first time. It is so noticeable. He can enter their mind. And what did he do after locke vanished? He made a plan and conned his people. So Richard conned his people. Like he conned Widmore in Dead is Dead. And Ben in The brig. After time travelers vanished in to thin air people got confused and started asking questions. Who is Jacob? Where are they? What happened? Why do we need to bury it? etc. So Richard invented Jacob. Because he knew Jacob will exist. And two years later he was pleased because he found out that John Locke was telling th! e truth. By 1977 Jacob is within their society as if he is real. None talks to Jacob except for Richard. Sounds familiar? :) And Richard blamed Jacob for saving Ben when Charles attacked him. But we all know it is a lie. There was no time to search for Jacob. And Richard never talked to anyone regarding Ben's condition except Kate and Sawyer. Right after the talk he went inside of the Temple walls. Charles cannot go against Jacob. He is not questioning his decisions now. But he did before in 1954. Maybe because he had no idea who Jacob is. Maybe none did. Not even Richard. A long con. Motive of this show. One of them at least.
But how does someone ended up finding Jacob?
Whoever Jacob is he got trapped in between. And he knew Richard at the time. Maybe he reached out for Richard in some way. Asking for help. Explaining what happened. We all heard him talk. So this time he talked to Richard. And in that moment Richard knew that was the moment Jacob became real. John Locke was right. Except for the fact that this "Jacob" was someone else before he became "Jacob". But since he was called Jacob from 1954 (as far as we know) there is no point in changing his name. To the Others he will remain Jacob forever. I think Richard is the only one who knows the truth of his real identity. But why the hell would he stop talking to Jacob??? He talked to him before 2004. Maybe Ben lied. Well I always thought he lied about that to John. Because he didn't want John being alone with Richard at any point. And he was right. For two reasons.
1. Richard will help John with his destiny of becoming a leader of Others. What he did in the end.
2. Richard would tell Locke about Jacob. The real truth if Locke ever had a chance to ask him about Jacob. Because he wants to help John with his destiny of becoming a leader of the Others.
Ben knew. The minute Locke said he knows Ben wanted to humiliate him in front of the others. Ben said: Where would you get an idea like that?
The man behind the curtain was pretty weird and important episode. The way Ben reacted when Locke decided to ask Richard all about it. The way Richard reacted when Ben said that he and Locke are going to see Jacob. This is the only logical explanation for me.
But Richard stopped talking to Jacob? I have no idea. Maybe he just passed the knowledge onto the new leader. And that was the real mistake. Richard regret his decision. He made back in 1977. He should never saved Ben. It was not what island wanted. It was not what Jacob wanted. He made the decision on his own. He never talked to Jacob. Because Jacob didn't exist back then. And now he is trying to do the right thing. He found his leader in John Locke. Ben is history.
Jacob's List
What if the list is Jacob's way of making things happen the way they already happened before. Whatever happened happened. Tail section was always kidnapped by the Others. Why? Because Jacob said so. Maybe because Jacob saw it happening before. It is the way it has to done. Eko was the clue. If the people on the list are good people how the hell Eko ended up there? If someone is not good among those people in a common sense then it is def not Eko. Drug dealer. Killer. And the greatest sin of all, he put his own brother, a priest, in danger. After he died Eko took his place and pretended to be a priest??? to save himself from jail instead of admitting who he really is. And while he was a priest he put the village in danger. The whole village after he brutally killed 3 men inside the church??? If he is good then I don't know....So why was he on the list? Because Jacob wanted to trick the events that already occurred. He wanted to con the course of destiny but he failed because ! whatever happened happened. What was he trying to do? There is only one person that got closer to death then any other besides John Locke. James Ford. None ever got close to death as many times as he did. I often wondered why? The closest thing was when he got shot on the raft. He got infected and closer to death than any time before. If Eko wasn't there he would die. Because none was big and strong enough like Eko to carry James back to the camp. And no way Ana Lucia would trust anyone else. So if Eko was gone, taken by the Others (because he was on the list) then none would carry James and he would probably die from blood poisoning. But James was not suppose to die. Jacob failed. Because whatever happened happened. James always lived. James always went back in time. Was always in the 50s, 70s...always. Why would Jacob want Sawyer dead. Well you all know what I think. Because he is Jacob. He wanted to con the course of events in order to stop himself of becoming Jacob. He ! doesn't like it. He asked for help. But since the con wasn't g! ood enou gh there is someone else who course corrects properly. Smoke Monster. Smoke killed 2 people (I am not counting Nadia and her team here) from Oceanic group. Only two. Why only two and why those two? Because they were not suppose to be there. Pilot was not suppose to fly that plane. Frank Lapidus was. Eko was on the list. Jacob's list. And he got away. So Smoke came back for him. Because he was not suppose to be there. It judged him and gave him a chance. He said no and that was the end of him. Then Jacob said that Locke should move the island. There was no time for explanations. Locke had Ben for that. But Ben conned Locke for his personal revenge. He needed to get of the island and revenge death of his daughter. But Locke was suppose to move the island. Jacob said so. But Ben always moved the island. Because Locke always went back to 50s. Locke always put two ideas in Richards head.
1. John Locke the future leader of the Others
2. Jacob sent the future leader back in time
So it always happened. And now again we have whatever happened happened. And Jacob wants to change it. Because if Locke turns the wheel maybe he would do it differently then Ben. Maybe he will move the island in space and not time this time. Or maybe the island will go back in time and space but without Locke. Without Locke none will talk to Richard except for Daniel, U.S. soldier who got saved by Sawyer and Juliet anyways. No John Locke the future leader. No Jacob. The leader of the leader. Everything else stays the same. Everything else? What? :) Everything changes. No Locke to get them back. No Sayid to shoot Ben. Nothing. No Locke Ethan conversation. No Ben to search for Locke. No Locke no nothing. But then again whatever happened happened. Even the all mighty Jacob cannot stop it or change it. He failed again. So now he has to wait for Locke to help him. No other way.
So basically both Jacob and Smoke Monster are correcting the events on the island. Making sure that everything goes exactly the way it suppose to go. With few exceptions. Jacob tried twice to influence course of events but he failed. Because you cannot change something that always happened. But you can see the future and influence the present in order to change the future. I will get to that at the end. Smoke on the other hand never fails and makes sure that everything goes the way it suppose to.

Duality
Some people tend to believe there are two Smoke Monsters. Because of what John Locke said. I believe no. Because of John Locke.
John Locke said: What I saw was beautiful.
Eko said: That is not what I saw.
Back in season 1 Walkabout, John saw the Monster and he saw a bright light and something beautiful. In Exodus he even went toward the Monster but then freak out and started running away from it. When it grabbed him and pulled him down the hole he said..
Let go Jack.
Why sudden change? Because he realized it is the same thing he saw before.
Why is it different from the thing Eko saw? Because Eko is opposite of Locke. One is light and one is dark. One is good and one is bad. Smoke can see your life. Can see what you really are. And then it shows you. It shows you what you really are. No wonder why the thing Eko saw was not beautiful. His soul was not beautiful no matter how hard he tried. He is still a killer and a fake priest. Unlike Locke. His soul is truly beautiful. Maybe he is angry. But when the moment came and he was suppose to kill his father he couldn't do it. Even when we are talking about the man who left him as a baby, came back and conned him for his kidney and then pushed him through the window. Even after all of this he turned the other cheek. He couldn't do it. It doesn't mean he is a coward. It means he is not a killer. At least in islands book. Why would Smoke come after him? Was he on the list too? According to Ben yes. According to Mikhail no. Mikhail said that they are flawed and not on th! e list both Kate and Sayid but about Locke well..."you Kate Austen you are complete stranger to me. But you John Locke, you I might have a fleeting memory of. But I must be confused because the John Locke I know.." Is it possible he was on the list? Is it possible this was yet another shortcut for Jacob that went wrong? And Smoke came to course correct. Or it had something else in "mind" for John Locke? Each is possible. The only thing I am sure of it would never do anything to harm Locke. Because Smoke knows who John Locke is and who he is going to be in the future. He has communion with an island. Richard and Jacob to watch his back. And now he finished his walkabout finally. Came back as a something else. Like Mathew Abadon once said.
The Future
For quite some time now I am thinking about the point of the show. What is the point? Where is it going. And the only logical explanation is Future. But just for a short time. Why? Because if you want to influence future you need to change your present. Present is 2007/2008. My guess is that they will go to the future. See what is going on and then go back to their present and try to influence some things in order to change that future. Because past is already done. Gone. What matters is the future. And future will not be that bright and happy. So their real task is to change the future and stop the end of the world. For some time I am thinking that they are the numbers. They are the parts of the equation. But the scientist never consider that option, people, and why would they? And the equation needs to be changed in order to change the course of destiny. Every equation has its constant (the island) and a variable (Desmond, or someone else who needed to change himself in or! der to do what he is suppose to. Like Locke who is changed man now. Or Jack. Or Sawyer or Kate...). Only together they can change the course of destiny. I am not sure who they really are. Maybe all of them in a way. I am counting Sun and Jin as one :)
