We've seen Christian Shephard walking around both the island and out in the real world. We've seen Ana-Lucia, Walt, and even Charlie communicating with the other losties. Everytime a deceased person has shown up (or someone from a losties past), the losties talk to them: Eko w/ Ana-Lucia before she started bleeding from the gunshot wound and Eko not knowing she was dead. Eko w/ Yemi. Hurley w/ Charlie. Locke w/ Christian and Walt (though Walt's not dead). And now, Ben w/ Alex. Hell, even Kate with her horse.
The only person that has never communicated with any dead losties, or holograms, is Jack even though Jack has seen his father on more than one occassion both on the island and off. Everytime that Jack has seen his father, Jack just stands there in disbelief and never tries communicating. He has no faith that the person he is seeing will actually acknowledge him and being a man of science he probably figures that "dead is dead". Everyone else on the island has noticed that things are different on this rock except for Jack. Now that Jack is taking on the role of Season 1 Locke, will he try communicating with his deceased father or will the island even take on the form of Christian in front of Jack anymore?
