I say all of the Others are former/future Dharma/Losties. Whidmore, the Other, financed Dharma. Ben Is Dharma/Other. Juliet is Other/Dharma. Elloise helps Losties/Others get back to island. Locke is an Other leader. The 06 and a few more Losties are Dharma. Miles was sent by an Other(Whidmore) and is now Dharma. Penny, daughter of an Other, is married to Des, acting as Dharma in the Swan. Daniel is the son of an Other, has worked with the Losties and Dharma. It all make more sense to see them all as one coherent unit, separated only by time and space.
If the Others, who live in the woods, have adapted a one-with-nature attitude, why are they always well clothed, mostly well groomed and baring the same weapons as Dharma?
I would suggest they have Dharma stations of their own. Some monitor the territorial boundaries, just like Le Fleur does in his underground bunker. That is how they, too, know when someone crosses the border. Richard is unaffected by Dharma's sonic fence. Is this because he knows the code as former/future Dharma?
Side theory: The Swan may have been built to counteract one of the Other bunkers. That is why it is such a mystery. We are missing the Other bunker puzzle piece, which makes it relevant.
