By now we've all gained the understanding that the polar bears were used to turn the frozen donkey wheel in at least one instance. My theory is that it will be Faraday's idea to use the bears for this purpose.
Faraday will do anything to save Charlotte, and rather than tell her to leave the island, as he vowed he wouldn't, he will attempt to move the island hoping it will in fact "change" what happened. Faraday will convince Dr. Candle to send a Dharma bear down to move the wheel, thus moving the island in time and space. However, the bear that moves the wheel, the same bear Charlotte finds in Tunisia, will be the evidence she needs to realize the island exists and perpetuates her search to return to it.
Farday will always cause Charlotte to return to the island and die. Island love is a bitch. Theory by Locke Lives!
