I know most of you are sick of hearing redemption theories. But hear me out, I believe everyone is where they should be in time and place. Every time someone has died on this show, they have made a major breakthrough regarding their character development. I believe they have to die, it just is a question of when and how.
Those who have died already -redeemed
Boone and Shannon patch things up then they died.
Libby finds love again after being distressed over her husband.
Charlie is now loved and accepted as a hero, saving 815ers by letting the signal through.
Chaire moves on and excepts her role as Aaron's mother.
Ana Lucia - guilty over killing the man who shot her.
Ecko- judged by smoke monster for non repentance over his brother.
Michael- feeling like a loser in the eyes of his son, wife left him and took his son. Doesn't know how to be a father. Sacrificed himself to save others.
Paulo and Nikki- can't remember if they made up in the end.
Christian- talking to Sawyer at bar about Jack and how he screwed up as a father and is now proud of his son.
Charlotte - ?
Those who didn't get off the island - Close to being redeemed. The island has just a little bit more to teach them. Sawyer etc.
Sawyer- understanding that he can be useful as a leader. Not be afraid to love instead of con people. Capable of being a good person.
Juliet - maybe feeling guilty over working with the others. Wanted to make a difference in the world. She still knows way more than she lets on to everyone else.
Miles - not sure, maybe uneasiness over gift of talking to dead.
Jin- guilty over his father's station in life and giving up his character to work for father in law. The character that Sun feel in love with. Being a hero to save his wife.
Locke - being a pushover and letting others tell him he is worthless without others to guide him. Gaining personal strength.
Those who left the island and came back on plane to 1977
Jack- dealing with father's death and their issues. Craving his father's approval. Wife left him. Has a hero complex, feels he has to save the world and lead others. Man of Science, counter to Locke. Hero complex, counter to Sawyer, doesn't think he could be a hero. Finally letting others find their purpose.
Kate - dealing with mother and killing her father. Feeling unlovable by others. Need Aaron's love for her as a mother to make her feel loved. Realizing she doesn't need Aaron anymore because he doesn't belong to her. Courage to give him back to Claire.
Hurley - feeling unimportant, unneeded and has a life that is cursed. Going back made him feel worse about his life. While on the island the first time he started to feel good about himself.
Sayid - dealing with his feelings about being a killer. Ben played him from the start.
Those who left the island and came back on the plane but in current time - still have a long journey ahead of them.
Sun- allowing her father to change Jin. She probably didn't know how to live without her father's money and protection. She loved Jin for who he was but wasn't prepared to leave her father's money. She made up with Jin but leaving the island made it worse because now she has a rage against Ben.
Frank Lupedus - guilt over not being on the plane when it crashed on the island.
Ben - ?????????????

I also have thought from the beginning that everyone who has ever been on the island is connected. Most of the 815ers have problems with their parents. What if they have all been on the island before, some have mentioned Christian may have possibly been there before. Maybe no one is supposed to leave the island and they either wants to get back (Widmore) or simply the island wants them back. If that is true than some of their children weren't supposed to be born at all and belong on the island. I still think Kate's father, Sun's father, Jack's father, Lock's father, Faraday's mother, Miles' father, Charlotte's mother etc. are all connected to the island in some way in the past. Maybe it's one of those "I'm my own grandpa" situations. Or maybe I've seen Terminator too many times? The island won't let them die because it needs them in the "future" past to be there to make a different decision. One that saves the world from destruction in the past or future. One big time loop s! o they can do it over and over again until they get it right. Kind of like the concept of "Reincarnation". Maybe Locke is the island's Dalai Lama, a reincarnation of the "Locke" from the past and future leader of the island. The others seem to keep trying to find their leader, 1st Widmore , 2nd Ben and each have failed the test in some way.
Based on the transcripts of the whispers they may projections into the past or from the future. People viewing what has happened or will happen. Kind of like Wizard of OZ or dare I say Time Bandits with the viewing of other people remotely. Going into different time streams and changing them by your actions. Faraday with Desmond, 815s saving Amy from the others, shooting young Ben, saving Ethan when he is born. Time being different on the island, people can seem to be healed or not be dead. If Locke in going to the island in the first place goes to a time before he was pushed out of the window then he has no injury. Or Rose has no cancer. Locke is not dead and people who have died can come back. Send the body to a time when you are not dead then send it forward or back to any time you like, then they are still alive. Richard needing Amy's husband's body.
Liking anything having to do with ancient Egypt, the concept of the underworld is very fascinating. One must be prepared to deal with trials to reach your final destination. The afterlife.
I know these aren't new or even great theories but just my opinions on the show. I welcome any comments or problems with my thoughts or people who I have missed on my list. Theory by BenSaysGood
