I don't normally post theories, usually because I never come up with any. I didn't see this theory out there already so I thought I would post it.
This theory assumes that Hurley tells Dan about what Miles told him.
It also assumes that Daniel leaves the island again.
Daniel is behind Bram and co. He set things in motion in the 70s when
he was off island to have the DI children come together when they grow
up to go back to the island and try to help the Losties (or the island
itself) out of the whatever mess they/it's in. Daniel has ideas about
what will help their situation, but since he's in the 70s (little technology), he can't get any of it done.
He sets up a safety deposit box with notes and
instructions for the DI kids. The notes would be something having to do with whatever is in the box and the instructions would include having them try to persuade Miles not to go to the island and also to go to his mom for
help/further instruction. I think Daniel knows something bad will happen to Miles if he goes back to the island.
I'm not sure, however, about the 'shadow of the statue.' I don't see Daniel
coming up with that phrase. So, I suppose that would be a wrench in my
theory.
Why wouldn't Dan just leave himself instructions? I think he did, but this was in addition to that. Maybe he didn't 100% trust his mom so he wanted a 'plan b.' Eloise's reaction to Desmond
when he asked her what she was going to to help may be of further proof.
I think she said something like, "Well, I am helping, dear, I'm getting everyone back to the island."
Maybe she felt slighted that Daniel didn't tell her about the WLSS people and when they showed up wanted instructions about how to get back on, she was taken aback and now is somewhat pissed by being left in the dark.
I like this theory for several reasons.
1. Bram and co, all seem to be the same age as Miles. Fits with the age of DI babies.
2. I can't think of anyone else that knows specific details about Miles' life other than Hurley and Miles' mom.
3. They would have to have been in contact with Dan's mom to know about the flight.
4. We know that Dan tries to protect the people he cares about. I can see
the same people trying to dissuade Charlotte from going as well.
