I have not posted a theory in a while, but I think I have something that is worth sharing. This theory was inspired by Vozzek69’s Things I Noticed for this week.
My theory is that Kate never had Aaron during the off Island time. I not sure at what point Aaron in no longer a real baby, but I am very confident that Aaron is no longer with Kate by the time they are at the press conference for the O6. I believe Kate was carrying around one of those Reborn Baby dolls when Aaron was a baby and acting like it was real and when Aaron was a toddler, I think Kate is just flat out imagining things. I have quickly gone through the transcripts in the place where Aaron is mentioned by other People (besides the O6) and I think this theory makes a lot more sense than Aaron being real.
1. O6 Press conference: During the press conference, Jack, Kate, Hurely, Sayid and Sun all sit at a table and have name plates in from on them. Aaron is in Kate’s lap, but there is no name plate for Aaron. The reporters use each of the adults’ names with easy recall; however, when a reporter asks a question about Kates baby, she isn’t sure of Aaron’s name. The question is about how Kate could have been 6 months pregnant at the time when as arrested. The Oceanic PR person quickly cuts off this question on grounds that Kate’s legal problems are off limit. The question is not really about Kate’s legal problems. Is the PR person heading off the question to protect Kate from having to defend the fact that she obviously does not have a baby?
2. During Kate’s Trail, her mother says she will not testify against Kate if Kate will let her see Aaron. Kate refuses. It is assumed it is due to the strained relationship between Kate and her mother, but could there be something more. Deep down, Kate knows Aaron is a Reborn doll and does not want to have her mother confront her about it.
3. During Kate’s Trail, her lawyer suggested that the jury would be more sympathetic if she would bring Aaron to court one day. Kate refuses to use Aaron. Again, what is really going on here? I think the lawyer is implying that the jury would be more sympathetic if they saw that Kate was completely nuts. Again, Kate knows deep down that the Aaron is not real and does not want to be publicly exposed.
4. After the trail, Jack meets Kate behind the courthouse. Jack wants to meet Kate for coffee and admits he has feelings for her. Kate will have none of it unless Jack will accept Aaron and come see him. Why is Jack so adverse to this? Maybe because Aaron is not real. I think Jack later agrees to play along with the craziness just so he can get into Kate’s pants.
5. Ben and his lawyer’s mentions and interest in Aaron have to be totally discounted because they know Kate is nuts and they are manipulating her to get her to do what they want.
6. When Jack goes to see Claire’s mother, she has no idea who “Aaron” is. How is this possible if the O6 are so famous? She knew Jack and Kate, but Aaron who? Oh, you mean that plastic doll Kate used to carry around.
7. The night before boarding the flight to get back to the island, Jack goes home and finds Kate in his bed. He asked where Aaron was and Kate says, don’t ever ask me about him again. It seemed weird that Jack was just like, “great Aaron is gone, let’s get it on.” But if Aaron was not real, it would explain why Jack as so completely satisfied with this answer and uncaring as to Aaron’s whereabouts.
8. When Kate goes to see Cassidy for the first time, Aaron is in a Baby Born on Kate’s chest. Cassidy looks at Kate and says hi, hugs here like there in no baby between them and after a little bit, quickly looks down at Aaron and say, who is this and then look right back into Kate’s eyes. I think we are going to find out that that was a plastic Reborn doll.
9. On the second visit to Cassidy’s house when Aaron is a toddler, Clementine answers the door and says hello to “Auntie Kate” but does not look at or address the toddler Aaron that is supposedly standing right next to Kate. Cassidy tells Kate that it is not Aaron that needs Kate but Kate that needs Aaron. If you examine both of Cassidy’s conversations with Kate, it is easy to see that Cassidy knows that Aaron is not real and is trying to get Kate to realize it.
10. In the grocery store, when Kate looses Aaron, if you watch carefully, you will see that no one looks at, address or touchs Aaron other than Kate and the woman that looks like Claire. The stock boy looks at Kate like she is nuts when she asks him if he saw where her son went. The store manager tries to calm her down, but makes no mention of a child. I believe the woman that looks like Claire is also imagined. As she talks to Kate about what happened, her word just kind of fade out. Also, the store manager just kind of looks at Kate for a minute and the turns around and walks away. How exactly would you expect him to respond if some woman was casing here toddler that was being led out of the store by a strange woman?
11. The kicker was the way Kate left Aaron with Claire mom, Carole Littleton. When Kate tells Carole what has happen, Carole it not all happy, she has a look of horror on her face. The questions Carole asks are not asked with Joy, they are asked with a tone of pathetic sorry. Carole seems very uncomfortable. Even the picture of Aaron that Kate gives her looks fake. It is printed on regular paper and is folded in half. I freeze framed the picture and I am not even sure that the kid in the picture is the same kid that plays imaginary Aaron. Lastly, Aaron is left two rooms down? Carole isn’t running down to get him? Kate leaves him in a hotel room by himself assuming Carole is going to come get him????
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case. Aaron is a figment of Kate’s imagination. I await your verdict. Theory by Skipmanii
