Just a quickie for your consideration:
When Desmond has time jumped in previous episodes, only his mind has travelled back in time. His consiousness was able to inhabit his body as he RE-LIVED moments from his past. After the destruction of the Swan and later on during his erratic flashes on the freighter, Desmond's body ALWAYS stayed in the "present" while his mind went back to inhabit his past body because it was a past he had already lived....
SOOOOOO if Jack and company were ALWAYS part of the 1970's Dharma Initiative, than why are they there in BODY and not mind alone???
Do you get where I am going here... If the 815ers were ALWAYS part of the 1970's Dharma initiative, then only their MINDS should have flashed to the 1970's and their BODIES should still be on flight 316. The fact that their BODIES went to the past, suggests that they were never there before. If they were, only their consiousness would have travelled back in time to inhabit their bodies. If not, there would be two sets of Sawyer, Julliet, Miles, Faraday, Jack, Kate, Hurley, Jin and Sayid in the 1970's Dharma.
My guess is the fact that the 815ers are currently in the past in BODY and in MIND implies that this is the first time they are with the DI. It didn't happen before.... "whatever happened, happened" is not the rule.
