Sorry, I've got a few thoughts that I wanted to post here. I don't want to make separate theories for these little thoughts. I apologize if anyone has posted these as I have not seen them yet. So here we go...
First I was considering the possibility of Radzinsky being Charlotte's father. Perhaps when Dharma gets wind of the purge that is coming, they begin an evacuation of women and children from the island, hence the reason Charlotte and Mum leave without her father. Could also be a reason for Radzinsky's later suicide.
Second is Daniel's whereabouts. It seems the most common ideas are either a) dead. b) With the hostiles or c) Insane.
I have to go with B here and I'll tell you why. I'm thinking maybe Daniel takes off with the Hostiles, considering her mother is one of them. So he lives on that side, possibly even trying to stop the purge from happening. He also may have done it as to NOT tell Charlotte to never come back.
This would help explain a few things that were bugging me. One would be he and Widmore's close ties after Widmore is banished from the island. If Widmore is the leader of the other's...then they definitely could have become "friends". Another thing I think of is the teaser for the premiere this year. As Chang is down in the Orchid, Daniel comes down, obviously up to SOMETHING. He lowers his head so much as to not be seen that he even bumps into Chang on the way in. At the time, for me, it was assumed he was doing this because he is a "lostie". But maybe it's because he's actually a "hostile"? Which is nearly an anagram from LOSTIE now that I think about it....lol. I'm getting sidetracked now.
