I have been a lurker here for some time and this is my first post. Please excuse me if this theory has been discussed and/or debunked. But your comments are appreciated. It seems to me that Richard is from a future time. Let's say that I am 30 years old. I go back in time 10 years. Now let's work with the premise that I will not again age until I reach that time when I would be thirty. For ten years time, it will appear to everyone around me that I do not age at all. Now let's really extend that time and say that I go back in time 50 years. For fifty years it would appear that I do not age. If Richard was say from 3000 or something, he would appear not to age for almost 1000 years so that to anyone who saw him in those 1000 years (Black Rock people, DI, Losties in any time)he would appear to not age and be immortal.
