Everyone thinks the incident involves about the oceanic six going back to the present. Instead, I think its caused by Juliet. She walks in on Sawyer and Kate going at it and freaks out. She go grabs a gun and aims for Kate, but instead Sawyer pushes Kate out of way is killed. Juliet, heartbroken, goes insane and tries to find a way to bring Sawyer back from the dead, so she tries the FDW wheel and go back where the plane crashes on the island to kill Kate.
Because if she kills Kate before she meets Sawyer, then Sawyer will never sleep with Kate. This is why Kate is running through the jungle in the pilot episode, she doesn't know why this crazt blonde chick is trying to kill her. But because whatever happened, happened, something happens to Juliet (probably the smoke monster) that kills her preventing her from changing the time loop.
The others find her body before the losites do, since they take bodies back with them and recognize Juliet's body. Kate doesn't tell anyone because she thought the stress of the plane crash caused her to hallucinate and can't find Juliet's body. Theory by Cory
