Ok.. another theory from this Lost DIVA. I will try not to confuse you with the bumblings of my brain, but if you stick with me.. it makes sence Here we go... oh and as always don't be rude. If you disagree do it nicely!
Preface to my Theory
I think we have all noticed that it is quite difficult to figure out who the bad guys are in Lost. All the major players Be, Widmore, Christian, Hawking, Richard..all the people pulling the stings have claimed to be the "good guys", out for the best of the island. I pose this question.. What if noone is bad, and noone is good? We will revisit this later.
I think we can also agree that there are tons of religious symbolisim and themes, but not from just one religion, Christianity, Egyptian, Eastern religions.. etc. Their precense is undenialble, but how could you put all these religious concepts all together in one show..Again we will comeback to this.
The WaR THeoRY
Who are the players in the war. Well we have at least 2 people who are def on diffrent sides ( obviously against each other) Ben and Widmore. Lets look at what each of them want.. I won't list if because of time, but it is fun if you do it, if you haven't already! ( now look at your list) post it if you like.. They all want the same THINGS! And so do the higher ups Richard, Christian, Hawking, Jacob..all working together for the same thing. Think of the island as a game of chess or backgammon.. neither of which I play or had great understanding of but I know one thing that is important.. Although their are sides of LIGHT and DARK.. neither is GOOD OR BAD. The point of the game is to WIN.. so any moves you make.. with in the parameters of the RULES are ok no matter how ruthless they are( BTW I don't think Widmore broke the rules because Alex was not really Ben's daughter, and I don't think penny's dead) We see this same game playing out on the island with dharma and Richar! ds people (2 sides..but they even had a truce or an agreement to rules)
I say all of this to say.. this is a GAME.. Desmond got it right Brotha! The Losties are just SOME of the Pawns.. although I believe Desmond is a HEAVY HITTER and just doesn't know it yet. The name of the game is to build your side.. The rules, cheat beg borrow, kill but don't be killed! Some people are just pawns with one life, and some passed the levels they nee to and got a 1up like im the old school Super Mario! Ok I just switched to video games but you get my drift. No BAD side, No GOOD side..ONLY SIDES.
Staying in that same thought we cross over to the religious themes. (DISCLAIMER the following theory is no a personal theory of lostdivanista as it pertains to religion, it is simply a theory on what the writers are trying to dipict in the WONDERFUL HIT SERIES LOST.. again.. I do not believe the following statements outside the relm of LOST.)
How many times have you heard people say that all religion is the same. That God is God no matter if we call him Ala of God. Religion is kinda like ordering chinese food.. (but not really)if you actually take a little from column A and column B and 2 from column C, but all of religion comes from the same chinese food/ religious menu. Could also be that of religious nature.. staying with the noone is Good noone is bad theme.. noone is right and noone is wrong because we all have the same goals ( AGAIN I DO NOT AGREE butfor the sake of the show I do)It could also be a methephor for the holy war which is in the bible and actually going on right now over land...
To Summarize for you too lazy to read The show is about manythings.. including time travel, but that is only one strand of this rtangled web.. here are two more:
NO Bad side No good side, Only sides.. It is a game with rules set in place, ruthless moves are allowed the point is to get the right players on your side to win. Some people have racked enough points to move on some don't some have found the Oh so coveted 1up and some..well, Not so much. Everyone has the same goal they just want to be the first to do it.
