Just a couple of things,
1. I don't believe that after the crash of Ajira Airways 316 that the new survivors are actually on "the Island." The reason for this is that Frank and some woman, probably Sun, took one of the canoes to sail off somewhere else. Were they just using the canoes to sail around the island to get somewhere quick like sun did before with Jin & Sayid? Or were they actually trying to get back to their island. And if it was sun who went with Frank where/when has Sayid arrived im sure he'd want to go aswell.
2. If the island that Locke is on with Caesar and Ilana is actually the island i don't think that they are in the same time as Jack, Kate, Hurly & Jin. I say this because Caesar is looking around a dharma station trying to collect information on the island but this station seems to be abandoned. Since they have the time to rummage about the office & there is also a plane that crashed just a little bit away from the beach. Im sure if Dharma were still there they would have noticed a plane coming down onto the island.
3. I don't think Ben was supposed to come back to the island as the island didn't take Ben in the flash with the O6, well minus Aaron, he ended in the plane crash along with everyone else. The Island didn't choose to take Ben but let his fate be decided in the plane crash
