Ok this theory will either be proven wrong or right but after watching He's our you I think I now know why Locke and Christian are in a sense alive on the island.
1) In Dharma times in the 70's Sayid believes he is there for a purpose to kill Ben Linus as a child that would alter future events in the future. Of course he shoots young Ben and Ben is "dead" or so we think. There can only be two possibilities A) that young Ben is dead and the future has been changed, but this creates a paradox as Ben would not be around to make sure that the 815'ers go through all they went through. In fact it is already a paradox if young Ben was shot as that would mean there would be no reason for Sayid to shoot him in the first place (i.e., if Ben died and does not grow up he will not be there to in the future when 815 crashes and cause all the trouble, thus causing Sayid and all the other survivors to even rememmber Ben. this is a paradox, simply put if young Ben is dead then no older Ben in 2004 when 815 crashes and they would never know who he is) or B) the island heals young Ben and all is well and this being shot by Sayid is what makes everything! that happened, happen.
2) Locke is for all intents and purposes alive or "resurected" as it seems. But I think when Sayid shot Ben this caused Loacke to never be strangled by older Ben in the future so the Locke that is seemingly alive is the Locke from the alternate timelime wher Ben never grew up to purge Dharma
3) Christian, this is why Chrisitan is alive on island the Christian we see is another version of Christian from another timeline. Think of Jet Li's movie The One where there is a Multiverse where there are other universe's out there that have many different versions of us and everyone we know. The island is the nexus of all these times and possibilites and the Christian alive on island is from one of those alternate universe's
Another way to think of this would be in The Dark Tower series by Stephen King The Waste Lands where Roland remembers TWO timelines at the same time. Both are very much real. Locke remembers his timeline of dying and he is alive. The same thing for Christian when 815 crashed something happened in the past that causes him to never die in Australia so there is a version of him that never died and is on the island. Both Locke and Christian I bet both remember dying and both are from a different timelime. Something is going to have to happen that makes one timeline the correct one. Flight 815 was never suppost to crash and that is how the show will end.
