During most of this season we've been watching the losties on the island in the wake of this time travel phenomenon. i believe that since this seems to be affecting them, and they are moving in time with the flashes, that for whatever reason, it's because they are not full blown Others, even Locke. Or perhaps Locke is moving cause he has a destiny to do so.
Either way, the French people are also not Others. I surmise that they are caught up in the Flashes as well. This will lead to them ending up in all the same timelines that the Losties do.
They are not a fixed point of history on the island, like Richard and the Others are, they are pulled into the wake just like the Losties.
The sickness Rousseau refers to is the Time Travel Sickness. Something I've surmised ever since Season 4 and The Constant.
Rousseau survives because her constant is Robert. Perhaps he survives as well, and they meet up with Dharma, the other losties, and ultimately a young Ben.
Now, this could have a bad impact on what happens with Dharma. Perhaps somewhere in that interaction Ben either takes Rousseau's baby, or Rousseau loses her real baby and takes one of the Dharma babies, and later Ben takes it back.
Something like that, if things go like I think and everyone ends up in the 70's then Alex would have been 20 something years old, and not 16, so perhaps she really is either Ben's child, or Rousseau's and Rousseau gets caught up in another flash away from the 70's 10 years into the future where she is alone and has Alex then. I don't know.
Either way, a conflict will happen between her and Ben. And somehow I think Robert will be killed because of it.
Now, on to Ben. I think that he and the oceanic six will not come back to the same times. perhaps Jack, Kate, and Hurley will go to one time, and Ben, Sayid and Sun will go to another. This might also complicate things with Sun returning to Jin.
I am hypothesizing that perhaps that group that was shooting and using Ajira Airways bottles was Ben, Sun and Sayid.
Why they would shoot I do not know, except perhaps mistaken identity.
Why he would have to return to a different time is because I think that the losties/freighter people on island end up in Dharma times, as hinted at by the first episode with Daniel seeing the uncovering of the Donkey Wheel. If so, then a potential meeting would be too possible between young ben and old ben, so ben has to return to a different time period, taking Sun and Sayid with him for whatever reason.
I think Locke goes down into an older version of the Orchid, which he then turns the wheel again, knocking himself off island, also reversing his healing so he needs a wheelchair again. This counteracts Ben's turning the wheel and slows the Island down, so that it slowly begins to flash less and less, but I am thinking we might see flashes til the end of the season. Until everyone is back at one point in time again, and it might even be before the freighter came to the island.
i am also pondering that when locke returns it will not be John locke that inhabits his body, but Jacob, as I think Jacob is a ghost, and that this will probably not be a good thing, but then again it might be.
John as we know him, will stay dead. Unless of course as someone else theorized he is simply in a medusa spider paralysis which makes sense to me too.
i think the island needs everyone that was on it when the wheel was pulled in order to begin stabilizing,.
So we'll see what happens. Theory by Justin
