We heard a lot of things about Swan station, about its purposes. Saving the world, observing people behavior and so on. But what if still don't know the truth.
Let's remember some facts:
-Desmond, sitting in the station, was pushing every 108 minutes a button to "save the world" (or discharging some big electromagnetic thing under the station).
-After the implosion Desmond "remembered" some things from the past, like the meeting with ms. Hawkings. She said that Desmond had to push the button, because it's important!
