Ok here is my theory on smoke monster and Jacob.
First is Smokey. As we all know Smoke Monster can take the body of people, dead ones so far. We had that weird incident with Juliet where the smoke monster took her picture with the flash...I think. The Others say it is a security system and even some know how to summon it. Apparently it lives in the Temple. I believe personally that it is guarding Jacob, I know it sounds so easy it cannot be true, but just listen. The Temple has walls with some hieroglyphics and a crack down at the corner of it...
Now Jacob. Jacob is a person that is an all powerful person that we think is held in contempt by Ben somehow. We have seen like 5 frames of what his face looks like. His cabin can move with a blink of a eye and sometimes has visitors such as Christian and Claire. Ben took Locke to what he thought what was "Jacob's Cabin" but in actuality was a setup by Ben so he could fool everybody who thought they were "special". He did count on Jacob being there when Locke flashed the flashlight. But how did Jacob appear if he is captured?...
SMOKE MONSTER=JACOB (at this point, you might be saying NO WAY!!! Keep reading)
Why would the smoke monster kill people then? Ben basically tells Jacob that he will kill Juliet if he doesn't do what he is told. (Somehow I believe Juliet is related to Jacob) I'm sure with Jacob's power once he overcomes Ben, he can reincarnate those people. Other theory is cause the monster has to eat ;-)
So why doesn't the smoke monster kill Ben? Ben has the barrier that keeps the smoke monster out.
Why would the smoke monster contact Locke? Pilot episode where Locke sees something "beautiful" and is not afraid, so the monster can trust him. (Basically if you are good at heart and do know wrong the monster will not kill you. Kind of like a demented Santa Clause)
Why can't Jacob leave the Temple? Think of it like Field of Dreams, where Doc plays ball with the ghost, but as soon as he crosses the chalk he turns into an old guy. Same theory applies here.
What's with the four-toed statue? That was Jacob's sculpture he made by his "powers". Ben crushed it because he couldn't stand looking at it.
I might be wrong but this is what you do when you watch LOST, you go crazy. After the season finale I can go back to my NORMAL life, thinking about real life stuff and not the new mystery of the week. Theory by Adkins boy
