Right at the start of season 5 we saw Daniel Faraday walking past Marvin Candle with what looked like a gas canister, heading for the power source...
It also seems that now that half the O-6 have returned, the island is in the Dharma era.
I suspect that it will mostly stay there for the remainder of the season.
So... how can the Losties get back to where they're supposed to be? I mean... I can only assume that they're not going to stay in Dharma era forever...
I suspect that Daniel Faraday is going to, possibly with the help of others, create a time machine, using the power source.
Throughout the season we've been shown that objects will travel with people when they flash through time on the island. That will surely, then, also work with a machine.
My belief is that the finale will feature this time travelling device in some way.
I have a theory about how this plays into season 6, too, ultimately leading to the saving of all the passengers of 815. I'll submit that one as a separate theory :-) Theory by bob
