I first thought this, I don't know a few episodes ago, where they show Dr. Candle waking up one morning to his wife saying, "it's your turn" or something to that effect, he gets up puts on what I believe was a Willie Nelson record and then proceeds to heat a bottle before heading off to a room where "A" baby was crying. Immediately after seeing that I thought to myself - That's Miles in that crib. Miles is Candle's son.
Ever since Miles has come to the island I have failed to see his relevance, significance, importance, or connections to the island. (if someone else has placed him, please tell me) but I am always thinking, why the hell is her there?.... What is his legacy to the island...
We know he has special powers to communicate with the other side meaning dead people, but this fact has been confirmed by no one on the show, he has not told anyone (as far as we know), well, he mentioned to Daniel just a couple eps ago that they were walking over fresh graves.... I am still scratching my head as to how Daniel did not find that weird that he knew that, maybe b/c it wasn't important at the time or he already knows by some unexplained parallel something, whatever, I am sure we will find out in due time but what I am saying is he hasn't "come out" so-to-speak to where his special powers are common knowledge to everyone. Why? What are the producers of the show saving him for?..... I mean giving his special abilities you could surmise a thousands different scenario's.
I feel this theory gained some solid traction watching this past Wed when, and I am not the best with lost details, but Miles went to speak with Daniel b/c he was getting a nose bleed and the conversation took a turn towards if he had ever been on the island before, Miles says "no" and then Daniel replies, "are you sure about that". BAM! I knew it!
After hearing that I believe it put my theory into perfect perspective. He has been there before, as a child, as a child of Dr. Candle.
