I am extremely intrigued by the idea of Jacob and I feel it is the biggest mystery of all (apart from the time travelling, smokey etc...)
I was watching the NOT IN PORTLAND episode and noticed some things in the room 23 scene (the one where karl is tied to the chair and looks as if he is being brain washed)
Before you read on, may I apologise forhaving no screen grabs as I am unsure how to add them.
What I noticed was at 24min and 51secs in, if you pause the video, an image is projected onto the right of the screen (on the back of karls chair) The image being that of a bearded man. Then at 25min and 04secs (when Sawyer is giving Karl a firemans lift out of room 23) the same man is in the picture in the background wearing safety goggles.
I was convinced I had seen this man before and started to look over the Dharma initiative scenes.
In the episode ? (when Locke and Mr Eko find The Pearl station)The Dharma video has a clip of recruits exercising while a man in a lab coat watches - this is 32mins and 40 second into the episode - This man is the same man who is in the room 23 video.
I think this man is Alvar Hanso of the Hanso foundation and I am more than convinced this is the same man in both videos, look at the length and slope of his nose - it is the same!
Then I come the question- why is this man involved with the Dharma initiative and also appearing in the wierd room 23 'Jacob Loves You' video? Is ths a hidden clue to who Jacob is?
Also my final point here, in the Dharma video, shown in ? and watched by Locke and Eko,the part where we see the man in the labcoat, the line being read is:
'careful observation is the only key to complete and true awareness.'
That to me is a direct hint to viewers to carefully observe and we will be aware of the secrets. The end of the Dharma clip also says Hanso Foundation 1980.
So what does this all mean? I think it has got to be a clue to Jacob.
