SEASON 1 episode 1
We see man in the woods. We don't know how he get there or why. And what a man in the suit is doing on his back in a bamboo forest. He gets up looks in his pocket. Oh, it's there, bottle of vodka. Then he starts running somewhere. We don't know where. We don't know why.
Then he is at the beach. He has been there before? Hm....He certainly knows his way around that place. A plane crashed. That was wow! And what does he do? He looks around, he is looking. Then he starts running and helping people. Later we learn his name is Jack and he is a doctor. Hm...
Its night, same day. He is sitting on the beach with the girl named Kate. They are talking about their plane crash. Jack is holding a plane like peace of palm tree and explaining to her what happened. She asks him:'How do you know all this?'
Jack:'I took flying lessons. It wasn't for me.'
First when you hear it it sounds very normal. Maybe he wanted to be a pilot (every boys dream) but it WASN'T for him...he is better of being a doctor. Or it WASN'T for him! It was for someone else. For them, the Oceanic 815. Or for Ben. His father. Charles. Locke.
That was a fist hint from the producers to us.
SEASON 5 episode 5
We see man in the woods. We don't know how he get there or why. And what a man in the suit is doing on his back in a forest. He gets up looks at the piece of paper that says 'I wish'. He hears someone. He starts running. Now we know it's Jack. Now we know he is running to save Hurley. Now we know he is a doctor. And we know he crash on the island AGAIN.
But what if this was simulation of his first crash ever. When he crashed 'first' time he didn't know where he was. He acted like a man who has just been in a plane crash(if it was me I would be panicking). He heard cry's for help and he started running. (in season 1, he didn't hear anything, he knew what happened even he was blacked out, he fell in the woods and Rose fell on the beach even she was sitting right next to him. He was the only one in the woods. I just find it strange).
Ben & Widmore
'I know what you are boy'
It is so strange to say that to someone else. WHAT YOU ARE. As if he was either so bad or not human at all.
He asked him if he came to kill him.
Ben: 'You know I cant kill you'
What does he mean he cant kill him? The island wont let him? Hm...I don't think so. I think the time loop wont let him. Cause everything that is going on they been through that, millions of times. That's why both of them are so calm. Cause they know what is going on. And how its going to go.
When you look at Ben. He always knows what to do. Jakob tells him. That's ridiculous cause when Jakob told Locke what to do it was pretty blurry. MOVE THE ISLAND. As it was go buy me a juice. He didn't say HOW. He didn't say WHERE. He didn't say WHO. He didn't say anything except gave the permission to move it. So how does Ben know everything? Is he ever surprised? No...well yes, few times. When he hears Charlie is in Looking Glass. And of course when Alex was shot. He says 'He changed the rules'. Who? Widmore? Yes, Widmore changed the rules. And what was the result? If you are living your life in a time loop, then everything is going over and over again. From certain point to a certain point. And you know nothing will ever change unless you find the way of changing something in past/future that can cause changing effect. How did Charles change rules? By killing Alex? No. By forcing Desmond to come to the island. Desmond is the rule changer.
Charles Widmore & Desmond Hume
In the season 3 and 4 we see Charles as mean old wealthy man. He is father of Desmond's Penny. He is very rude and very cold. Especially to Desmond. The scene with the whiskey in his office, remember that? I felt so sorry for Desmond. And I hated Charles. How can someone be rude to someone for no apparent reason? Yes it's his daughter. But, something was really weird there. Then later in Constant Desmond needs to find Penny to save his life. And the only man who can help him is Charles. When he asks him for the address you would think no way, this is Charles chance to separate them forever and let Desmond die from aneurysm. But no. He reacts quite opposite and gives Desmond her address??? OK. Then later when Desmond comes again to Charles' s office to ask for Hawking address (again the address???) after being away for couple of years, Charles acts so weird, calm. He gives Desmond address, no question asked. And he is polite to him. Why would a man act like that? Maybe cause ! he knows what is going on. From the start. Maybe if he was good to Des from the beginning Des would never go and sail the world, to win a race, cause we wouldn't want to be apart from Penny (he wouldn't have a reason to prove himself to the old man). If he was ok with Charles from the start he would maybe do it...sail the world but would ask Penny to join him. That couldn't happen cause Penny wasn't suppose to go to the island. Well not yet. So Charles decided to drive Desmond insane (cause it was the only way) and provokes him which eventually lead Desmond to buy the boat (it was so easy to get it once Libby walked in the coffee shop and simply gave him a boat, perhaps Charles's boat??) and sail the world, crash on the island and push the button and so on. That lead him to meet Charlie and save his life couple of times which lead Charlie go down to the Looking Glass (the reason why Ben was surprised, cause Charlie supposed to be dead by now) and switch of the signal. That ! lead to freighter crew come to the island and kill Alex. Cause! in a ti me loop they never came to the island...
So Charles Widmore is a good guy cause he is the one protecting the island he loves so much. He wasn't the one placing the plane in that trench. Ben lied as always. Charles is the one who put them all to 815 cause that was a hole in the loop that could help Charles snatch Ben and free the island. Mathew was the one telling Locke to go on a walkabout. Mathew works for Charles. Charles was the one forcing Desmond to sail the world. And miss Hawking is working for the island. If she is working against Charles how the hell he knows her address???? She would be hiding from him...cause he is a bad guy, right?
I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BOY. Maybe he is the only one who knows what Ben is and what he is capable of. Charles is a smart man, he used to be spoiled boy but something changed. He is smart and he cant be manipulated by Ben like everyone else can.
We will just have to wait and see. I can't wait for Episode 5.07 :) Since I live in Europe I will have to wait till Thursday...:(
So, my point is they are living in a time loop. We got a hint in episode 1 when they are hiking and hear Danielle's distress call. Said says it's a TIME LOOP and its playing OVER and OVER for 16 years. We have Jack who I believe crashed once again (in season 1). Trying to FIX things. We know Jack loves fixing things and he is good in that. We have Desmond who says to Jack on the stadium 'I was almost a doctor once'??? When? He was a monk, a soldier..he sailed the world. Doctor? If you want to be a doctor you have to give up on your life and focus. But then he said something even more weird 'What if you did fix her? But what if you did fix her?' And Jack really did fix her the same night. How come Desmond knew that? Then he says 'See you in another life brother' Yes indeed. He knew that. He knew all of it. Don't mistake coincidence for fate.
And for the end Sawyer. Sawyer is a mystery to me. In season 1 he is so rude. Like Charles Widmore is. Rude on purpose. Rude cause he knows how it supposed to be. And what he needs to do to make Jack do what he supposed to do. Just look at psychology, man's brain, way of thinking. Way of acting in various situations. Sawyer acted weird. Getting himself tortured by Said for no reason. Or for the most important reason of all. It's not coincidence Sawyer is a con man. He coned them all. He is a good guy like Charles is. But I just need to wait and see.
