What was Christian Shepherd doing in Australia?
We know that on his last trip, he was drinking himself silly and trying to visit his other child, but what would he have been doing there in the first place all those years ago that lead to his having this other family?
Is it possible that he has a history on the Island and made frequent plane trips across the Pacific in an effort to get back? Could be -- it's worth noting that his son would attempt to return to the island in similar fashion years later.
So we know that Christian developed a pretty sturdy alcoholism (similar to Jack's bouts with pills and drink) and that he made frequent flights in the vicinity of the Island (just like Jack). Was he distraught at his inability to return to the island and drowning himself in booze?
When Jack returns to the island with Locke's body will this be the first time he arrives with a dead body in tow? Of course not -- he arrived with his father (whose body appears to have been brought back to life -- in a sense -- by the island).
Did the island need Christian to return just as it needs Locke?
It will be interesting to see how this next episode goes -- I would suppose that the island needs Aaron (Christian's grandson) just as it appears to need Jack.Theory by GT
