This is my first post in the theory section so I apologise if this is not as well put together as some of the other theories on here, Just a few thoughts:
Juliet told Sawyer in season 3 that the Others were building a runway - maybe this is for Ajira airways, this is assuming the Losties were in the future when they found the Ajira water bottle.
Maybe Ajira is offerring trips in time - From Ajira's website - "Check back often to discover new ways to get lost in the world.
No Borders, Now Boarding - Ajira Airways"
Maybe Ajira Airways is how the Oceanic Six get back to the Island or part of the way they do. Maybe the Oceanic Six, Ben, Locke, etc get an Ajira plane to the smaller island with the runway built by the Others, then take a small boat to the main Island, bringing with them some water bottles from the plane. This would explain the boats being old but with a new/modern water bottle inside it. The people shooting at Sawyer, Juliet, Miles, Faraday. Charlotte and Locke are deliberately shown from afar. I wouldnt be surprised if we see this event again but from the Oceanic Six, Ben and Locke's point of view. Maybe they were in the other boat.
Just a thought thanks for reading! Theory by Graeme Robson
