So after "Jughead"... here's what I'm thinking:
Elle (the woman with the gun) is Faradays Mother, aka, Ms. Hawking. It would put her as the proper age, akin with Widmore.
Now, Widmore's words to Ben in Season 4:
"I know who you are boy... what you are. I know everything you have you took from me"
Richard recruited Ben from an early age and planned the purge with him. Widmore was on the island up until the point of the purge. Ben had Widmore, errrr, tricked widmore, into turning the frozen donkey wheel, thus moving the island and creating a time paradox for Widmore. This would explain why Ben could not kill Widmore in the penthouse.
Now I also think that this is the 5th, 6th, or more, time that the island has been thru this time loop. There are certain people who guide it so that the time line is seen thru to the end, like hwking, richard and ben, so that there are no catastrophic time paradoxes. That is why they know so much (popular idea on this message board and others I know , so credit where credit is due.)
There are certain rules... you can't change what has happened in previous timelines. In previous timelines Alex never died. Widmore changed the rules by killing her. All bets are now off since the O6 left the island.
Charlie was the musician that programed the code in the looking glass in a previous timeline... In previous timelines Charlie died like Desmond remembered. Since Desmond prevented his death, and charlie was able to enter the code, thus getting the O6 off the island, the game was changed.
Now they have to get back in 70 hours of a time paradox will create such a rip in time that all of existence will stop... ????
