It should be my last post for a while, I promise. I am sure that by now some of you might be sick of reading my theories!
I am sorry, but new ideas keep on popping out of my head! So here we go again:
From last season, much was revealed including new mysteries!!! Among those mysteries, two bothered me especially: Locke’s abilities in Cabin Fever and Faraday crying in front of tv. And believe it or not, both are linked!
Let’s start with the latter
Why would Faraday cry when seeing the 815 wreckage at the bottom of the sea?
He had no idea himself, and I believe him.
However he cried as if he knew the dead bodies and was affected by the loss.
Similarly, a young Locke drew the black monster as if he had seen it, however did not show any sign of it. What is more, he could chose all the items which belonged to him on the island.
It is clear that it is all in their subconscience. Which means that something has happened to them which they have no idea of.
Well, my theory is that the Losties experience of and on the island has not just affected the future, but also their past, as if their past had been rewritten from the time they arrived on the island.
Let me explain first with Locke:
When Locke arrived on the island, he was healed then encountered the black monster which strongly affected him emotionally.
And we see now a baby Locke fighting for life from birth, surviving premature birth, infections and pneumonia.
A young Locke who can draw the black monster and knows unconsciously what future man he will be.
Then later while paralyzed, Abaddon comes to see him and stands with him at the top of a staircase implying that he can now walk, it is just a matter of will (just like when Walt appears at the top of the deadpit telling him to get up and start working).
Is it a coincidence that baby/adult Locke shows the same ability to heal as Locke on the island?
Now my question is, do you think that all this would have happened if Locke or Faraday did not get to the island? My answer is no
Somehow a past Locke has been connected to the future Locke. Same with Faraday
When Locke was healed on the island, the past Locke got the same ability to be healed
When Locke met the smoke monster, the past Locke unconsciously got to know it too
When Faraday met the 815 survivors, the past Faraday unconsciously recognized them when he saw their dead bodies at the bottom of the sea on tv.
I am not sure how it is possible, but not knowing much at the moment, my first guess would be time travel.
Just like Desmond traveled in time, I mean his conscience, Locke and Faraday could have too, living their past selves with memories only revealed by their subconscience and a capacity to heal for Locke.
It is highly possible taking the fact that Jack has time traveled too.
You might want proof of that: last season finale, when Jack falls from the helicopter with the other oceanic 6, watch carefully the scene under water. The camera focuses on Jack for a reason. Jack does not wake up. He is unconscious. And I believe that he is unconscious because his conscience is traveling.
It has been suggested before that Jack might have been time traveling when he woke up in the jungle in season 1. Then when he disappears in the jungle while Kate and Charlie hide in the tree to escape to the smoke monster. And finally, that Jack being sick on the island might be a sign of it.
For my part, I believe it. And I believe that the man that Achara sees in Jack in season 3, ‘stranger in a strange land’ and describes as “a great leader” is Jack conscience traveling from the island. And that is probably why she tattoes him: “ he walks among us but he is not one of us”.
I also read a great theory about why women could not conceive on the island. It said that babies were time traveling. I won’t go through it once again, but will just say that it would explain why Claire could not feel Aaron moving right after they crashed on the island.
But I have also another theory about it. I believe that women are not meant to conceive on the island. The island is not meant to be inhabited. Just like John said, they were brought to the island for a reason. I believe that can be also said for all the people who have inhabited the island. The island summons people to the island, just like Jacob summons people he wants to talk to.
My point is that the island has a purpose and is summoning people for help. But whoever comes to the island cannot stay forever. People are meant to help the island and not to exploit it or live on it. So living on the island like the Others have been doing, building houses and trying to have babies is wrong. The island must remain unspoilt (that is why Jacob hates technology).
The monster has been said to be a security device, and I believe it aimed at keeping the numbers of people on the island down among other things. The smoke monster is just protecting the island. Thus the sonar fence. The Others and the DI probably knew that what they were doing was wrong and tried to protect themselves from the monster.
So basically, the island won’t let women have babies. It is against its Law
Which brings us to the essence of the island itself. Personally I believe it is the garden of Eden and there are many clues for that, but I will not discuss it on this post.
So that is it for now.
Thanks for your time.
