I'd like first to make note of the discrepancies (IMO, of course, as this whole theory is) between an unsticking of the mind, such as killed Minkowski, and a "flash" the likes of which we saw Desmond experience in Flashes Before your Eyes. Though both are a side-effect of the same EM radiation we saw Daniel zap Eloise with and Desmond release when he turned the key and cause what the people on The Island referred to as the Purple Sky Event (though Violet would probably be a better description, as the radiation appeared more pink in colour in Daniel's lab.), they are different in nature.
When Desmond turned the key his entire life flashed before his eyes, including events from after he turned the key, this is how he is able to have flashes of mundane things like Locke's speech and of Charlie's many course corrected lives, each time he saves Charlie he changes the life that flashed before him and changes the subsequent flash of Charlie's death.
When Desmond was flown to the Kahana and his mind became unstuck in time, the term used by Daniel to describe what happened to Eloise in The Constant, his consciousness jumped between two places he had physically been, in Desmond's case The Island in 2004 and Oxford in 1996, where he met and spoke with Daniel Faraday, it's in these two places that someone's constant must exist if they are to survive.
With this distinction made, is the fact that none of the survivors of O815 have experienced an unsticking of the mind in the way that Desmond & some people on-board the Kahana have (like Minkowski) evidence that the SYSTEM FAILURE on September, 22nd, 2004 actually reduced the level of EM radiation O815 was exposed to on entry to a safe, nonlethal, "no constant required" level and also temporarily meant that anything or anyone coming to The Island would experience very minimal or no temporal distortion (like Doc Ray's corpse & Sayid, Desmonds & Frank's off-course chopper trip back to the Kahana did), thus giving us the reason O815 was able to take off and crash on the same day?
