I was thinking about what the format for the show will be next season. We have already heard some speculation regarding multiple timelines etc.
Let's start off by thinking about this fact: The entire cast will be on the island of Hawaii again. Granted, this is where most of the shooting has been done, but if there werent going to be any island related scenes with a Jack or Kate why would they still need to shoot them there?
I think that the O6 characters will have there storyline grounded in the present. Jack dealing with his alcholism, Kate staying put, Sun her dad, Hurley the numbers/self doubt, Sayid his contract killing and maybe even Ben and Desmond as well. Then they will have flashbacks to their island life that fit in with the episode's theme. All scenes convincing the O6 that they need to come back. All of these reminders will serve as a push for the return to the island in the present timeline.
