I had a vision. Bear with me, I know how it sounds, but it was so good I really feel like I've seen the end of season 5.
As noted in a previous post of mine called Season 5, and in other posts, the 06 will have made it back to the Island by the end of this season. And as I stated in that post, the first 5 seasons will be seen after that as a series of small steps to get the losties to believe in their mission, whatever that turns out to be.
I'm not going to debate the mission, but whether it is to save the world, reset time, protect a secret, or anything else, it's clear that there is a specific purpose for most if not all of the cast and getting them to believe in that purpose has been the goal of characters like Ben and Locke all along.
So at the end of season 5, the purpose will be revealed, and I can almost see the characters in the order they buy into it. Clearly Locke is first in line, and then maybe Hurley. Sun doesn't seem far behind and then Sayid perhaps. Kate and Jack will be the hardest to convince it seems, and that's where my vision comes in.
I had a dream of Jack returning to the Island. He confronts Locke at some point and they argue over the tragedy that Jeremy Bentham had told the O6 about and the best way to stop it. The arguement is initiated by Jack, who believes enough in his purpose to have come back to the island, he still won't completely buy into it, and he's arguing to hold on to his last shred of belief that this destiny he has just isn't real. He won't let himself take that leap of faith that he's been resisting since season 1.
But something happens. The tragedy begins and Jack deep down knows he's the key to stopping it. The only thing to do is accept his destiny, and at that point he sees flashes of all of the key moments he has been apart of that have been leading him to his destiny. He accepts it at last and he and Locke march off to season 6 and the true story of Lost that has been being set up for 5 seasons.
That's my theory for the final episode of this season, and I'm pretty sure baring some details, this is what will happen. What do you think?
